This course will equip you with a practical understanding of the principles and techniques of data-driven agriculture and enhanced decision-making in agricultural management. 

It will draw you through the process of data gathering from multiple sources, multivariate data analysis, and applying the result as a part of the management decision process. You will be able to leverage data in livestock management, crop management, soil health, and resource optimisation; and integrate innovative technologies to improve overall farm productivity. 

The course underpins these essential skills by providing you with a solid foundation in data literacy for effective data-led agricultural management. 

 

Who the course is for: 
This course is designed for farmers, agricultural managers, agronomists, and anyone involved in the agricultural industry who seeks to enhance their decision-making through data-driven insights.

Whether you are a professional looking to incorporate the latest technologies and analytics into your operations, or a newcomer eager to understand how data can optimise livestock management, crop yields, soil health, and resource management, this course provides the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to transform your agricultural practices.

Entry requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements, but applicants are advised that this course will be delivered at SCQF Level 11, which is equivalent to a postgraduate MSc degree. If you do not have a Bachelors degree or equivalent level qualification, you may find the postgraduate level assessment challenging.

You will require access to a computer or laptop, internet connectivity and a webcam.

Course dates:
This course is self-paced and will be launched in February 2025. It can be started at any point in the year excepting July and August. It normally takes 12 weeks to complete.

Qualification:
This is a stand-alone micro-credential (accredited short course) at postgraduate level 11. Upon completion of this course, you will gain 20 SCQF credits (equivalent to one-third of a Postgraduate Certificate) and a certificate to prove you have passed the course.
