SRUC

We've launched a new HND/Degree level apprenticeship!

Click below to find out more about our Technical Apprenticeship - Rural Land Use and Management (Agricultural Livestock or Crop Specialisms) course.

Run as a partnership between the apprentice, the employer and SRUC, our apprenticeship programmes offer individuals and employers a package of vocational training designed to meet the demands of today’s land-based industries with a combination of the specialist ‘on the job’ training and high quality college-based learning you need to succeed.

They are an exciting and practical way for apprentices to gain hands-on industry skills and qualifications while at the same time offering employers a cost effective package of training to meet the demand for a skilled and motivated workforce.

Courses which require face to face teaching, generally day release or one-week blocks throughout the academic year, are run from five of our campuses (Ayr, Barony, Elmwood, Oatridge and Aberdeen), with some programmes being delivered entirely on-line with work place assessments to fit with the employer and balance work commitments.

Our apprenticeships cover a wide variety of subjects, from agriculture through to food and drink production, from SCQF Level 5 to Level 8 (depending on programme) and in coordination with SRUC’s Skills and Lifelong Learning team we can design specialist bespoke training packages to meet the requirements of businesses and Local Authorities.

SRUC also offer a full range of land-based Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ) and industry endorsed training courses.
