The Job:
As a Seasonal Ranger you will work with visitors & residents providing on hand communication and advice; talking with people in clear, positive, engaging, persuasive and easily understood ways to encourage responsible outdoor access, meaning you will ensure that both visitors and residents get the most value from their time in the National Park.

The Candidate:
- In depth geographical knowledge of the “outdoors”
- An understanding of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code
- Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills with a clear ability to communicate well with a range of audiences and deal with challenging situations
- A passion for, and experience of, encouraging a wide range of people to responsibly enjoy the outdoors
- Experience of working as part of a team in outdoor and countryside activities
- Ability to work alone, without supervision, along with excellent team and partnership working skills
- Current UK Full Driving Licence for manual vehicles and good experience of driving on rural roads
- Flexible approach to working hours as regular evening until 10pm, morning from 6am and weekend working will be required.
- Physically fit and able/willing to work outside in all weather conditions
- Permission to work in the UK

Ranger - Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust
To assist the Head Stalker in managing the deer population to allow woodland expansion and restoration of other ecosystems, whilst in the presence of deer. This will involve targeted deer control across the 76 sq. km of Dalnacardoch Estate in the Cairngorms National Park, in remote locations and at high altitudes.
