Thinking of studying at SRUC?

Want to study at SRUC? We'd love to have you!

Before studying at SRUC, you'll need to find and apply for your course. Find more detailed information on how to do this below.

Finding your course

Before you can apply to study with us, you'll need to know what course(s) you want to apply to.

There are a lot of ways to study at SRUC. A full list of our academic courses are in our course catalogue where you can filter by subject, degree, location, and more. Or if you want to study a certain way -like distance learning or part-time, you can also search for your course at SRUC that way through our pathways to study.

If you prefer, you can also download a digital version or request a paper copy of our prospectus.

And don't forget to check out our virtual experience where you'll find lots of great student videos and examples of what it's like to study the course(s) and subject(s) you're interested in, along with campus and facility tours.

Once you've found a course you think you might be interested in applying for, we recommend attending one or more Open days to learn more about studying that course at SRUC.

And don't forget that if you have questions about finding the right course for you, you can reach out to our student recruitment team at study@sruc.ac.uk (if you live in Scotland) studyinscotland@sruc.ac.uk (if you’re  coming to study at SRUC from the rest of the UK) or internationalstudents@sruc.ac.uk (if you live outside the UK) for help or advice on finding the right course for you

Clearing

If you have not applied yet to SRUC or didn't get the results you were expecting after applying or accepting an offer made by SRUC but want to study with us this year, you're welcome to apply via clearing.

We'll publish a list of our courses available for clearing in June or July every year. We'll update them regularly and remove courses as they fill up. You can still find our full course list in our course catalogue.

To apply for any course during clearing, click on the apply or enquire link on the clearing page for course you're interested in. You can't apply to clearing spaces through our course catalogue.

Our admissions team will process your application and respond as quickly as possible to let you know if you've been offered a place on an SRUC course.

Find a regularly-updated list of which courses are available for clearing using the link below.

Applying for your course

Entry requirements
Before applying, make sure you meet or are likely to meet the entry requirements for your chosen course. These will be listed on the course page in our course catalogue. We also have dedicated entry requirements pages that gives general academic and physical requirements for our courses as well as explains the wide variety of comparable and alternative qualifications we accept such as maturity, work experience, and motivation which are recognised as alternatives to formal qualifications wherever possible.

If you are an international student, you may have also some additional entry requirements like validation of your current qualifications and proof of competence in written and spoken English.

How to apply
How to apply to study at SRUC will be different depending on what course you are applying for, but we have broken down all the steps you'll need to take by course type on our application instructions page. We also have a dedicated application FAQ page to answer common application questions; and if you are a teacher, parent, or carer, we also have a dedicated page with information especially for you.

If you have a disability or additional needs and need your application in a different format or would like specific assistance when applying to SRUC, contact our admissions team who will be more than happy to help or refer you to the right specialist support you need. Asking for extra help or disclosing any disability during the application process will not affect whether or not you are accepted at SRUC.

After you submit your application, you will get an email from us to confirm we have received it.

Contact us
If you are confused about any of our application instructions or need help in any way, please contact us. We have a dedicated admissions team that is ready to help at every step. You can contact them at: admissions@sruc.ac.uk

If you're coming from outside the UK to study at SRUC, you're encouraged to message us at internationalstudents@sruc.ac.uk for more personalised help in applying to study at SRUC.

Receiving your offer

After you've applied to SRUC, keep an eye on your email inbox for an offer from us.

We process and respond to all applications on a rolling basis.

If you're accepted in your chosen course, you will receive a conditional or unconditional offer from us. You will also hear from us if you have not been accepted in the course you applied for.

Applicant Days

If SRUC are able to offer you a place on the course you have applied to, you will receive an invitation to attend an applicant day. These are specifically designed to help you make a more informed decision.

We realise that some applicants will already have attended an SRUC open day. However, applicant days will provide more detailed course information, including interactive activities that will give you the opportunity to be a SRUC student for a short while. You will also have more time to meet with staff and students involved with the course and the wider student experience.

Applicant days take place in March and April. You will receive an invitation by post with more information.

If there isn’t an applicant event for your course, or you applied too late and missed it – don’t worry – we have more Open days on-campus throughout the year to make sure you have the chance to come and see us in person and get any questions answered.
