Overview and what's involved

Led by qualified vets and cattle fertility specialists, this course provides comprehensive training in the practical skills and theory underpinning artificial insemination of cattle. Designed to fit in with the demands of farm life, this course course runs over 3 days, the majority of which is spent in practical, on farm sessions to help you master this key skill.

What's involved:

Theory, including Introduction, Health and Safety, welfare, anatomy and physiology,
oestrus detection and the timing of insemination.
Reproductive tract demonstration, handling and passing AI gun. Further practice with
tracts.
Live cow session, legislation, hygiene, reproductive problems and management, final
test of semen handling technique

What to bring

Warm outdoor clothing for practical sessions, including wellington boots
