I am a Ruminant Nutritionist working within the SAC Consulting livestock team based in the Perth consulting office. I started my career in nutrition following graduation from SRUC in Edinburgh with a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture that took me initially into a vitamin and mineral premixer specialising in feed additives before moving back to my roots into beef and sheep nutrition working for a large Scottish compounder. Following this I decided to take my career in nutrition further and completed by MSc in Ruminant Nutrition for Harper Adams in 2022 before joining SAC that same year.

I am passionate about finding the right results for each individual farm, with no two units ever the same, to optimise welfare, performance and profitability in the livestock business. Day to day I work closely with clients to formulate rations utilising on farm resources and also look at all aspects of beef and sheep management. My other roles include training and support for other consultants in livestock rationing and utilising Dietcheck, providing nutrition CPD for Vets / Advisors, speaking at farmer meetings and industry events, writing articles in national and internal press and project roles in several farm advisory service and university innovation funded projects.

In my spare time, you’ll typically find me on an ice rink in winter, having curled since I was 10, attending an agricultural show or pottering about our family farm in the Scottish Borders with my Jack Russell Bea not far behind.
