I am an Agricultural Consultant based at the Ayr office. I was born and raised on a beef and sheep farm in South Lanarkshire and I am still involved in running the family business during my spare time. Following school I served for just over 4 years in the Infantry with the British Army, during which I served in Afghanistan and in Seirra Leone during the Ebola pandemic.

Upon leaving the army I started to study agriculture at SRUC, from where I gained a BSc(Hons) in agriculture and a MSc in Agricultural Professional Practice. After completing the BSc(Hons) in Agriculture I joined SAC Consulting.

I manage around 120 active clients, predominately in Ayrshire and Renfrewshire for which I complete regular work. In addition to this I also complete work for other clients on an irregular basis. I am also involved in the Facilitation of three FAS Connect groups and the delivery of other FAS projects.

My work includes completing IACS/Single Application Forms, technical consultancy, grant scheme application work. I am particularly experienced in the completion of Farm Manure and Slurry Managements Plans, AECs slurry store applications, Carbon Audits, Integrated Land Management Plans, Business Plans and Soil health Specialist advice.

My main areas of interest include livestock production systems, alternative livestock, soil health, business planning and carbon auditing.

In my spare time I enjoy getting stuck in one the family beef and sheep farm, spending time with friends and family and obsessing about Military history.
