Iain qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 2000. Borders.

He previously worked from the Coldstream branch of Galedin Vets having joined the practice in 2007. He was the lead clinical director for farm animals and spent most of his clinical time on all aspects of suckler cow herd management, including a high case load of bull fertility examinations, dairy cow routine fertility visits and flock health planning.

He is married with three teenage children. If family time allows, he particularly enjoys trail running and successfully completed the Edinburgh Marathon in 2022 raising over £1500 in sponsorship for the Vetlife charity. He has a lovely Labrador called Ruby and keeps a small flock of pedigree Hebridean sheep at home.

I'm currently working on

Iain works as a Veterinary Investigation Officer for SRUC Veterinary Services at St Boswells in the Scottish Borders, and has a keen interest in equine anaesthesia having passed the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia in July 2003.

My professional highlights

He is a BCVA Accredited Johne’s vet adviser, past member of VetPartner’s farm animal executive committee, an advisory group member of the Scottish Government BVD advisory committee and has been an external examiner in farm animal medicine and surgery at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.
