I have an honours degree in agriculture from the University of Aberdeen and I am BASIS, FACTS and FBAASS accredited. I have worked as an agricultural consultant in the Kirkwall SAC Consulting office in Orkney since 2008 where, as part of a small team, I provide advice and services to around 400 clients.

My role as a consultant is wide and varied and includes: IACS forms, Agri Environment audits and funding applications, livestock ration formulations, silage analysis reports, soil analysis interpretation and fertiliser recommendations, Agrecalc Carbon Audits, Crofting Grants and ILMP reports incorporating financial projections.

I have also been involved in delivering many on farm events and meetings including Orkney’s Monitor Farm, Soil & Nutrient Network Farms and FAS Connect.
