After obtaining a PhD in Nematology from a prestigious University of Agriculture in Nigeria, I lectured briefly at the University before moving to South Africa for my Post-doctoral research in 2016. I was a recipient of the TWAS/NRF Fellowship, and the African Collaboration Grant, hosted at the Department of Conservation Ecology & Entomology Stellenbosch University (SU), South Africa. During this period, I conducted a Nematology survey and facilitated research collaborations between SU and some Nigerian Universities.
I later joined Cape Peninsula University of Technology as a Postdoctoral Researcher where I engaged in research activities on Pest Management and Sustainable Agriculture. I participated in a Blueberry project that was funded by the South Africa Water Research Council (SAMRC), I also taught some postgraduate courses in the Department of Agriculture. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I joined the Department of Global Health, SU, and was involved in a multidisciplinary project on Immune response to Covid-19 vaccination, hosted at the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, Stellenbosch University.
Towards further development of my career, I relocated to the United Kingdom and before joining SRUC, I was privileged to be endorsed by the Royal Society as a Global Talent under the Exceptional Promise category and I have been involved in Nematology research at Harper Adams University, United Kingdom.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling and meeting people from different cultural backgrounds.

I'm currently working on
I am currently involved in research activities focused on Integrated Pest Management and developing alternative pest control options towards promoting Sustainable Agriculture. I am interested in the use of cover crops and soil amendments as potential alternatives for managing nematode pests. I also teach courses and supervise student projects in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences.
