Interpretation of blood selenium levels in cattle and sheep
The reference ranges for blood selenium quoted on our reports are for serum selenium levels in adult and growing animals. Please see below the reference ranges for serum selenium in neonates and for whole blood selenium adults, growing animals and neonates:
 - Serum selenium in neonatal calves: 253 - 886 nmol/l
 - Serum selenium in neonatal lambs: 633 - 1266 nmol/l
 - Whole blood selenium in adult and growing cattle: 1519 - 3798 nmol/l
 - Whole blood selenium in neonatal calves: 1266 - 3165 nmol/l
 - Whole blood selenium in adult and growing sheep: 1519 - 4431 nmol/l
 - Whole blood selenium in neonatal lambs: Not available
