Rules & requirements
Specific rules apply if you are planning to run an event to include MV accredited sheep or CAE accredited goats to allow these animals to maintain their status when being entered into a show or sale. Show or sale event organisers must complete an application and event declaration by 30th April each year. Each year a portion of these events are subject to an inspection. IMPORTANT SCRAPIE MONITORING: APHA is responsible for approving dedicated (all SMS animals) and segregated (SMS and non-SMS) shows and sales. Contact your local APHA office to find out which events are approved.
