Scotland helps provide farmers with some of the best conditions in the world to be successful – and SAC Consulting is ready to help ensure they have the information, expertise, and support that they need.

That is the message Chloe McCulloch, the new Head of SAC Consulting, wants to highlight as she insists the potential is there to succeed despite a challenging and constantly evolving landscape for agriculture.

Coming from a farming background in Ayrshire, the Scottish Agricultural College (now SRUC) graduate, who previously headed up delivery of Scotland’s Farm Advisory Service, is a great believer that Scotland’s rich natural larder and habitat helps the country produce some of the finest quality food in the world.

Chloe is thrilled to become the new Head of Consulting, which provides expert advice and solutions for agricultural, food and land-based businesses.

Chloe and her team know they can help provide answers to many of the challenges their customers face and added: “Agriculture is at the heart of Scotland’s economy and communities. Farmers and crofters want to do the right things but, with policies, markets, and environmental pressures shifting, they value having expert advice to support them.

“That’s where we can come in – our team provide the information needed to inform effective decision-making, working alongside our clients to identify opportunities, tackle challenges, or drive innovation: we’re focused on practical solutions that deliver results.”

Chloe believes Scotland already gives those in the agriculture sector an advantage through its rich and diverse habitat and the standards of its food.

She said: “We produce some of the highest quality food in the world, and maintaining that reputation is vital. Supporting our farmers and crofters to be productive, while meeting evolving standards, is key to strengthening Scotland’s food security and rural economy.

“Farming is crucial to life in Scotland and, unique to us, SRUC gives us cutting-edge research which we use to add value to independent advice for our farming customers. Farmers ultimately have what is necessary to be really successful - it can sometimes take just a little bit of support to get them to where they need to be more quickly.”

Chloe is also keen to point out that SAC Consulting also works with a diverse range of agricultural industry-related businesses, and the wider food supply chain too.

She said: “We not only work with farmers, but we also work with estates, distilleries, supermarkets, banks, SMEs (subject matter experts), and a whole range of businesses from the smallest crofter to global multi-nationals. But, ultimately, it all comes back to the land.

“Our call to action to existing and potential customers is that we are here to help with teams all across Scotland, and beyond. What we want to do is give farmers, land owners, and food supply chains both the technical expertise and the confidence to succeed.”
