SRUC Veterinary Services Covid-19 update

Find out the latest about how we're adapting our services.

SRUC Veterinary Services works in partnership with farmers, vets and breed societies throughout the UK to control economically important infectious diseases in sheep and goats.

SRUC Veterinary Services runs the Premium Sheep and Goat Health Schemes (PSGHS) from St Boswell's in the Scottish Borders. The PSGHS provides programmes of testing and biosecurity so that members can achieve health status for Maedi Visna (MV), Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis (CAE), Enzootic Abortion of Ewes (EAE) and Johne's Disease.

SRUC Veterinary Services runs the Scrapie Monitoring Scheme on behalf of Defra for those wishing to export sheep or goats.

Highlands and Islands Sheep Health Association (HISHA) is a farmer-led member organisation whose flocks are monitored by SRUC Veterinary Services in order to supply the market with EAE accredited breeding stock.
